#eatingforinsta Rainbow Radish Toast
Grocery stores are my weakness. Whole Foods is my kryptonite. I walk in there with a plan…..I need 5 things and that’s it. I walk out with my head in the clouds and my hands weighed down with WAAAAY more stuff that I thought I’d buy. There’s just something about the walls of brightly coloured beautiful produce, the endless blocks of cheese, the guy at the deli counter who always lets me try a couple of different types of prosciutto….its heaven made up of $$ signs.
It’s the end of summer and slowly the produce section is changing. The big tubs of heirloom tomatoes are giving way to squash and the stone fruit are bowing out in favour of citrus. I spotted some fun summer foods and grabbed them, wanted to savour the very end of the season before the pumpkin and braising part of the year begins in earnest.
The other stuff I got will make its way into future posts…But today, I’m turning the spotlight on the gorgeous bunch of radish I picked up. White, pink and an almost purplish burgundy.
There was literally no thought, no prep required here. The radish would obviously end up on toasted sourdough with lashings of butter. Some salt, pepper and a chive garnish. Thats it….nothing fancy. I just wanted to let the radish be the star here. This being 2018 and me being a social media weirdo, prep took 2 minutes, plating took 10.
